In an arid deserted part of the world, an Explorer was in search of a great treasure.

Word had been spread that on the King’s death, upon his request, his men had buried his entire treasure in a chest in an undisclosed part of the desert. Hundreds flocked in its search.

The Explorer, an extremely skilled man, tried to drill into many locations, but couldn’t go much deeper than the surface. He suspected that if the treasure had been buried, should he find the right location, he will be able to drill easily into the ground as the soil will be weaker there than anywhere else.

Hours later, he found an area where the drill started going deeper and deeper with ease. The hair on his neck rose in excitement. Goosebumps all over his skin. He couldn’t believe it.

The fruit always tastes best just before you eat it.

Suddenly there was great noise a few metres away from him, where groups of people started to gather in a rush. The Explorer at once removed his drill, and also frantically scampered over, not wanting to miss out on any opportunity. Alas, the hype was all for nothing, a man had found some discarded box of items.

However as the Explorer turned to look back at his previous location, his heart sank, a sickening feeling overtook him, and he suddenly felt dizzy.

He looked on as a man lifted a huge treasure chest from within the ground. In that exact spot the Explorer had drilled, without needing to go much deeper to find it than the Explorer already had. The entire crowd charged towards the lucky, now incredibly wealthy, man.

The Explorer felt his body go limp. In complete dismay, he collapsed on the floor and fainted.

The new thing always seems better than the thing that’s working.

Story Art is a new genre of art, one that brings the two most powerful ways of spreading a message for the past 5,000+ years together — storytelling and art. Teaching great human truths and lessons in the simplest form possible. MORE
