A Wild Ride with “Inventing Anna”: A Fun Review
Inventing Anna is a fun show which revolves around the ambition of Anna Sorokin aka. Anna Delvey. It’s based on the real life escapades of Anna Sorokin, a starry eyed girl from Russia, who crafts a character of a German Heiress and adopts her mother’s maiden name — Delvey.
The show is a sheer delight to watch from start to finish. While shown from the eyes of a journalist Vivian Kent, as she interviews Anna and different people from Anna’s life we are introduced to a world of glitz and glamour, and thrown into the world of Anna Delvey who duped New York’s elite.
From the get-go, “Inventing Anna” reels you in with its glitzy portrayal of the Big Apple. The series is a visual feast, showcasing lavish parties, designer wardrobes, and the kind of opulence most of us can only dream of. Beneath the surface lies a tale of cunning and manipulation that sort of makes you lose your faith in the humanity for real.
Julia Garner, who plays the lead character, delivers a performance that is nothing short of mesmerizing. She embodies Anna’s enigmatic charm and ruthless ambition with such finesse that you’ll find yourself both rooting for her and shaking your head in disbelief. Her portrayal captures the complexity of a character who is as endearing as she is infuriating.
I love how the career of Vivian Kent and Todd (Anna’s lawyer) is shown. The sheer lengths that people go through for protecting their careers or building the glory is shown with such ease that I am a fan of the show. Not because I relate to any of it, but because, the show is so captivating, fast paced and never ceases to disappoint you even for a minute. You know the show is written well when you are the one rooting for Anna’s release even though she has scammed through the entire high society of New York!
The show makes you question, Is it worth climbing the social ladder, what is the value if the designer handbags and shoes which Anna so badly wants and does whatever she has in her to not just build an empire but also create an image for herself. It’s sort of a cautionary tale wrapped in a glittering package, reminding us that not everything that glitters is gold.
In conclusion, “Inventing Anna” is a wildly entertaining ride that will leave you both dazzled and dumbfounded. With its stellar cast, gripping plot, and a healthy dose of humor, it’s a series that you won’t want to miss. Just remember — in the world of “Inventing Anna,” things are rarely as they seem.
