It is almost Spring and with that, it is time for your TBR list to wear some spring colors as well.

Here is a selection of 3 books that reminds me of Spring, read them in a park under a tree…. or under a warm blanket (snacks and tea are also highly recommended).

1. Anxious People

from goodreads.com

We give those we love nicknames, because love requires a word that belongs to us alone.
Fredrik Backman, Anxious People

After his bestseller “A man called Ove”, Fredrik Backman strikes again with another one of his masterpieces, a poignant comedy about a crime that never took place, a would-be bank robber who disappears into thin air, probably inside an apartment full of eight hostages.

An apartment viewing is not normally a matter of life and death, not unless you encounter a bank robber burst in, waving a fake gun. As the pressure mounts, the lives of the eight strangers are gradually revealed and we learn they might have more in common. This is a gentle story of eight tired humans, a conflicting dad and son, a failed robber, a helpless parent and more people who have been beautifully fleshed-out like ghosts of a memory.

2. FINLAY DONOVAN IS KILLING IT

from goodreads.com

It’s a widely known fact that most moms are ready to kill someone by eight thirty A.M. on any given morning.
Elle Cosimano, Finlay Donovan Is Killing It (Finlay Donovan #1)

This is a series, a rather notorious one. Crime writers, like all writers, tend to struggle in their career and so did Finlay Donovan. But little did they know that she would take on the life of murder and mayhem that is usually reserved for her characters.

Finlay Donovan is a single mum and floundering writer. She recently had her nanny fired by her ex-husband without her knowledge. She sent her four years old to school with hair duct-taped to head due to an unfortunate incident with scissors. Her conversation with her literally agent regarding the plot of her new murder mystery raises suspicion among the eavesdropping public. Soon Finlay is met with a note, a name and a large sum of cash, compelling her to plot something way larger than her novels.

This book is perfect mix of wits and thrill, makes you squeeze the edges of your book as you root of Finlay Donovan, the single mum- crime thriller writer turned hit-mom, waltzing by many adversities.

3. What You Are Looking for is in the library

from goodreads.com

In a world where you don’t know what will happen next, I just do what I can right now.
Michiko Aoyama, What You Are Looking for is in the Library

After reading of robbery and murder, it’s about time we go back to the place where we find ourselves most at home, a library.

Books can provide solution to all; ‘books can change your life’, there’s no doubt at that. This story is of an unique library and a unique librarian who takes this quote quite literally.

“What are you looking for”?

So asks Tokyo’s most enigmatic librarian, Sayuri Komachi who is no ordinary librarian. She can sense exactly what you are searching in life and presents you with the exact book that can bring you to your answer. Many people stumble upon the library, a restless retail assistant, a mother who recently faced demotion at work, a conscientious accountant who yearns to open an antique store, a gifted manga artist in search of motivation and finally a recently retired salary man on a quest to find purpose.

The plot may sound a bit similar to “before the coffee get cold” but they are two different genres. This book is not about grief, rather it is about finding a purpose in life. This book has the ability to move anyone, give them a fresh perspective and make them reevaluate their life.

I hope you all have a beautiful Spring this year.
