Koreans absolutely love drinking. And especially they love Soju (소주).

Soju is a Korean alcoholic beverage containing from around 15% to 53% of alcohol.

There are even some local brands of Soju from all over Korea. For example, 한라산 and 푸른밤 from Jeju Island and 시원 (C1) and 좋은데이 from Busan.

But for those who don’t enjoy the alcohol taste, different Soju brands came up with the flavored Soju. They are less in an alcohol percentage and have a fruit taste to it.

Here are some examples: 자몽에 이슬, 좋은데이 레드 (석류), 처음처럼 순하리 (유자). Although they used to be really popular around two years ago, their popularity continues to decline these days.

The legal drinking age in Korea is 19 and almost everyone is getting strictly checked when entering a bar or buying alcohol.

The best way to learn Korean is to live in Korea. Don’t live there? Don’t worry. Here is the best alternative.
