Connecting Families to Need and Resource
We spent time with some of our favorite nonprofits and asked them what makes them unique.
“Unique to our organization we match donor families with enough [food] to share with families in need, providing both the donor and recipient with a personal and connected experience. Family-to-Family is a hunger and poverty relief organization that focuses specifically on helping profoundly poor American families by providing groceries each month when SNAP benefits are depleted and local food pantry shelves are bare. What makes Family-to-Family unique is the way we provide these groceries and much needed personal care items. Unique to our organization, we match donor families with enough to share with families in need, providing both the donor and recipient with a personal and connected experience. Each month, thousands of moms, dads, kids and grandparents feed their families with groceries purchased with their ‘donor family’s’ donations. The donor families are able to teach their children about empathy, compassion, and giving because families are encouraged to write each other– which we hope helps those giving and those receiving feel their commonality and not their differences.”
