We want to highlight the heart and inspiration behind local businesses so you can see the real people, vision, and drive behind local business owners.

Why does your business exist?

“Having my own bakery has been my dream for almost as long as I can remember. Feeding people is the way I show love. It feeds my soul, and I hope theirs too! The Little Bird Bakeshop exists where and how it does today because of the heartache and grief I experienced in losing my mom to suicide 6 years ago. This compelled me to find a project that I could pour my time and energy into, that had meaning and purpose, and made me feel like I wanted to move forward in life. The Little Bird Bakeshop is a blend of a dream and a healing. It also brought my husband into my life, who now runs the shop with me, and in turn brought our little girl Ivy. Following a dream has filled out my life in so many unforeseeable ways!”

What often sets a dreamer and a doer apart is how they address their limitations and hardships in life. These things will either deter or drive a person to pursue their dream. Amy chose the latter. And now, The Little Bird Bakeshop is an extension of her love to bring people together and serve the community with coffee and tasty treats.
