Build a Personal Operating System
Design a Productivity Wiki
Build a system to manage your tasks, projects, goals, and notes in one place.
A personal operating system is a set of tools that help run your life. It’s a dashboard for everything you do. Track your tasks, plan your week, store your notes, and keep your goals visible.
Use tools like Notion or Obsidian, or design your own system. Some use index cards or sticky notes. The tool doesn’t matter as much as the structure. Make it easy to use and update.
A productivity wiki is just a collection of linked pages. Start with five.
Home: Your dashboard. Include your top goals, current projects, and today’s tasks.
Tasks: A running list of everything you need to do. Break it down by category or priority.
Projects: Pages for each project you’re working on. Include deadlines, notes, and next steps.
Notes: A place to store ideas, meeting notes, and research.
Calendar: A weekly or monthly view of your schedule and deadlines.
Think about what you actually need. For a student, you might want pages for each class. If a freelancer, you will want client pages with invoices and deliverables. If managing a household, you’ll want a meal…
