How do you promote team bonding and learning in a virtual workspace? Here’s something we do regularly at Storyblocks:

🎧 Step 1: Select Engaging Content
Every few weeks, pick a podcast or video presentation that piques your team’s interest. Explore topics that align with your goals and spark curiosity.

👥 Step 2: Host a Media Meeting
Set up a dedicated meeting to watch or listen to the chosen content as a team. This not only creates a shared experience but also allows for valuable discussions during the session.

📝 Step 3: Collaborative Note-Taking
Encourage everyone to take notes in a shared space during the meeting. This should be informal and relaxed. This serves as a record of individual insights, fostering collaboration and ensuring no ideas slip through the cracks. As a bonus, rate the content to serve as a recommendation for others.

🔄 Step 4: Rotate the Curator’s Role
After each session let different team members take the lead in selecting the next piece of content. This not only keeps things fresh but also provides diverse perspectives.

Benefits of this Approach:

Team Bonding: Shared experiences strengthen team bonds, creating a sense of togetherness even in virtual spaces.

Continuous Learning: Regular exposure to new ideas and perspectives keeps the learning curve steep, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Idea Exchange: The collaborative note-taking process encourages open dialogue, leading to the exchange of thoughts and insights.
