Storyboard Comments for Private Podcasts

At Storyboard, we believe that audio is a critical tool in the future of how companies will engage their employees. Today, over 1,300 companies globally release internal podcasts on our platform as a breakthrough audio channel to let employees access Town Halls, trainings, and more on-demand with the ease of listening to a podcast.

With our private audio channels, employees can use Storyboard at any time and on all devices (whether walking the dog, knocking out emails, or cleaning the house) while listening to key materials.

We’re thrilled to share that our newest feature has launched to all users: Storyboard Comments. Private podcasts and internal audio should evolve into a two-way street where anyone in a company or organization can communicate and share. We’ll now walk through our newest feature that will support this vision.

Learning from our Storyboard Creators and Listeners

Our service has been used for many creative applications by Internal Comms Directors, Leadership, Managers, and many others within a company. Through our user research, it was clear that creators wanted to let their listeners contribute to the conversation, which often required starting email threads, Slack channels, and more after releasing a new show on Storyboard.

Listeners Will See an Option to Comment

Going forward, listeners on all devices (iPhone, Android, and web) will have an option to view an episode comment stream or contribute their own questions and ideas to their show.

When a listener submits a Storyboard Comment, they will be prompted to either:

  • Tag a specific moment in the episode, like at 5:30 when they hear an interesting point and want to suggest going deeper next week;
  • Sharing a General Comment about the overall episode;

Listeners can then view a Comment Stream that will showcase both General Comments and Tagged Moments in sequence.

Administrator Tools to Manage Comments

In addition to this upgrade to the listener experience, we’ve also launched several key Administrator Tools. These include:

  • Admin Comment Tracking: In your Podcast Dashboard in the Admin Portal, you will now see a listing of all comments as well as any Episode Tags, which will identify the point in an episode when the listener left a comment. This is great for Town Halls and Q&As, where you can promote a future episode and use the Admin Portal as a queue for listener questions;
  • Comment Moderation: Easily remove any comments as needed from the stream like if a commenter accidentally submitted or duplicated their comment.

To use this new feature, Storyboard listeners should go to any episode in the latest mobile app or head over to the Listener Portal on our website. You’ll see an option below the episode to view comments.

If you would like to try out Storyboard as a content creator at your organization or workplace, you can start today for free for up to 50 listeners or request a demo of Storyboard Pro.
