While some filmmakers apply for film grants, others turn to crowdfunding (or both) to raise capital for their feature documentaries. If there’s a set amount that you need in order to kickoff filming, finish post-production, or even to distribute your film, these five fundraising platforms can help you get there. However, you shouldn’t jump into crowdfunding without weighing the pros and cons of each platform, so that you can choose the best one for your project.
