Dark Forest of Souls

This is not a poem.

Nor romance.

A green forest from far away.

A green dark forest deep inside.

A green thick forest full of trees.

A green thick forest full of bleeding trees.

A green thick forest with roots deep in hell.

A green thick forest with trunks up to heaven.

You would rather be lost and never found again.

You would rather be lost and never found again.

You would rather be lost and never found again.

Lost in the echo of rustling trees.

Lost in the echo of birds and growing bees.

Don’t come for me.

Don’t come for me.

Roots grew from my soul.

Leaves grew on my head.

It was no surprise.

I was everything but dead.

And I’m never out again.

It’s where I want them to bury me.

Lay me down under the oldest tree

Let the tears nourish me

Cursed as I am

Just let me be.
