Don’t Follow

Alone I suffer,
all night long.
Got no other,
when you do me wrong.

Winter chill reminds me,
of a person long gone.
Gives my heart a shiver.
Shakes me to the bone.

Where I’ve been,
no one should ever go.
If I fall,
if I fall again,
no one should follow.

Expectations never deliver.
Oh, how they miss just so.
Trembling hand pulls the trigger.
Aim my sights down low.

One moment you have it all,
but it’s gone just as fast.
Flying high until you fall,
what was now becomes the past.

Where I’ve been,
no one should ever go.
When I fall,
when I fall again,
no one will ever know.
