How To Become a Channel For Your Story

And write your best work ever

Sometimes you sit down to write, and diamonds are shining in your brain. Words are bubbling up like air in an excited bottle of champagne.

And you know it. You are in the mood for…

Writing your best piece ever.

That’s when it even can get better. You are afraid to lose that mood since you know the words will start to pour out like hot brown chocolate on vanilla ice cream.

It doesn’t seem you who is writing. Since all the words are just the perfect choice, all you need to do is letting go. It is the most delicious utterly sensual way to write, the tantra of literature.

You are literally drifting on waves of words that bring you to the shore of your message. You have become the divine instrument, you have emptied yourself from self-doubt, critique and even self-monitoring. Your mind took a short holiday to the Bahamas without you even knowing.

The word writer’s block had yet to be invented in this blissful universe of coherency, alignment and mastery.

You have become a channel. And the story chose you.

What everybody wants to know now is the most evident question. How to get in that state? How to become the channel of my writing?

I would say. Its a combination of things.

Lets start with hard work. You need to put the hours in. That will build the wave.

Somehow, all writers feel when they are not on the top of their game. Still they publish, because it is good enough.

That’s alright. If you have tasted your top once, you actually know how to get there. But you can’t force it, neither can you push it. You need to be patient and humble. And work. Write down those words, search for the secret lock. The key is your experience. This can take days, but probably weeks or even months. It depends on how often you write.

I have my golden flow, my channel moment maybe once a month, when I am lucky. But to get there, I need to write every day. I need to build that mountain of words and climb to the top to be able to reach for the stars.

These are the moment when it is actually great to be a writer. All other moments have become offerings. A disciplined cutting away of stone to find the gold.

Since writing is the best mirror I have at the moment, apart from my partner, my personal rhythm reflects through my writing. You must recognize this. It's like I almost can feel it coming. And yet, it always surprises me. I can’t time it, it's a magical opening. My heart being friends with my mind, a trance state where the source of all things can reveal itself.

Those moments are often in congruence with my personal health, general feelings of happiness and stuff just working out fine in my life. Sometimes this only happens once in a few weeks to me. I need to spot those moments. Life smiles at me, the birds are singing and it is time to open my laptop without losing a second.

So you can optimize this state through eating healthy, sport, and finding your biorhythm and respecting it. That is part of the discipline. It almost becomes like top sport. Or maybe it is.

The secret behind it is structure. When you write every morning from lets say 8 am till 11 am, your body and brain get used to stretching your creative muscle exactly in those hours. You will be rewarded. Everybody gets rewarded for this effort. But some faster than others.

Its the peak experience. The flow state. It’s the result of the alchemist process of knowing yourself. Of turning the odds in favor of yourself. Of becoming the master of your craft.

Still, it can take years. Like meditation. It can take 422 mornings to arrive at that sublime state of mind, that everything falls in place sensation where you know that life is perfect. You are perfect.

You write because your urge to bring the world your message is stronger than making some decent money. That’s called passion. Sometimes you even can feel the chosen. The sudden answer to the question: “Why am I doing all this work?” You know that real artists don’t have a choice. Its a craft from vocation. Its higher, stronger and deeper than you.

And that’s exactly it. These golden moments you dissolve in something bigger.

It’s the orgasm of poets

To become in line with the universe. You heart playing at the edge of the knowable, embracing the craziness of life expressed through the only thing that truly gives us meaning.

A story.
