Searching for the Other Halves

A realm of balanced opposites

The days without a happy thought,
should be matched,
with equal moments of bliss.

Wash off some grains from oneself,
measuring them in weight.

Peel back the layers,
look inside, and keep seeking,
for what it means to be you.

Vast moors of nothingness,
lead to pastures of clarity.

Stop to feel the spiky grass,
pain isn’t always so bad,
for its match is indifference.

Combing through the coarseness,
longing a feeling called home.

The wind gushes behind me,
reflecting melodic notes to my ears,
matching the garbled noise of yesterday.

Match the sea of numbness
not with icy walls of feelings.

Choose a ladder instead,
a bridge connecting thoughts.
Equip me with blocks of truths,
reason, and compassion.

I will take those instead,
not simple days of bliss.
