Unfurling of wings
Heads untuck from feather cocoons
Beaks open wide and trill the
Song of the Sunrise

Scratch scratch scratch
Tiny feet hardly make a noise
On the rocks and gravel
Their march home is their
Song of the Sunrise

Hooves stamp the cool ground
Snorts of frosty morning air
A look to the horizon and a
Whinny is their Song of the Sunrise

Leathery wings flap and fold
Protectively over the heads and bodies of
their owners.
One final screech as their addition
To the Song of the Sunrise

The warmth of day
Causes the colorful petals to unfurl
Lending their beautiful faces
To the Song of the Sunrise

All night hunting
Has led to a fine feast
Pups and adults alike yip
Their glee is their boisterous
Song of the Sunrise

Fluffy furry tails unwrap
Tiny heads peek out of trees and holes
Noses twitch and little squeaks
Add to the Song of the Sunrise

Soft hisses as they
Make their way to their
Spots for the day. Their
Bodies and their tongues
Add the “S” to the Song of the Sunrise

A few more deep throaty
Croaks before their time
Is up. Throats extended
Croaking the Song of the Sunrise

Shift from dark to colorful
Light. Multitudes of stars
Scatter as one lone star
Obscures the sky; it is the perpetual
Song of the Sunrise

The glow enters the room of two
Lovers. One quick kiss and
The night is over. The silence.
The beauty. The Song
Of the Sunrise.
