Surreal Dreams

Winding paths of surreal dreams
Never sure as to what we find
Somnolent state when they appear,
Hard to follow twists and turns
Feeling so real but so uncertain.

Dreams from happenings long ago
Or new imaginative fresh creations
Maybe things not happening at all,
Juxtapositions of varied people
Known in different parts of life.

Gestalt images so vividly seen
Never sure from where they come
Energy expended in having them,
New dreams of hopes and wishes
Held down deeply in the heart.

Awakening from our surreal dreams
Into real world beckoning us back,
Time to live what is waiting here.
