Wasting & Waiting
Instead of replying to this tension
calm /tired but functioning
I engineer a disconnect
a circumstantial vicariousness that leaves
& comes back through
the windows of vagary /war from
some form of losing Paradise
Anxiety creeps into
every vibrating preparation
Staring out at a world that is composed
of fear networks
of swiftly changing gulps
& frustration that loves to get into bed
with all of this
Story opts out of forgiving you
for wasting your waiting alone
book less
Strapped to the bars of a new line of disappointments
while there is a clumsy lock
biting into the snow-swept doorway
& you try to brush aside the residue
you left your emptiness for
the residue
you’d rejoin hopeful looks for, towards
like a new masterpiece
