A Public Health Student’s Response— Providing Support to New York City Schools

Final year Columbia University Master’s of Public Health student shares about her experience responding to the needs of New York City’s school districts at the brink of the pandemic.

Ellie Goldstein completed an externship in conjunction with Children’s Aid and a large middle school located in the Bronx. Following a comprehensive needs assessment, a survey was created and then disseminated with the purpose of identifying the various physical, mental and sexual health needs of students.
