Biographical Storytelling Services
* base prices for the following services do not include the additional pricing for graphic designs, videography, audio, or photography
Obituaries (pre-mortem and post-mortem) — 1,000 words max @ $0.10/word
Standard Autobiographies — 10,000 words max @ $0.25/word
Standard Biographies — 10,000 words max @ $0.15/word
Biographical Newspapers & Newsletters — 2,500 words max at $0.10/word
Biographical Magazines — 2,500 words max at $0.10/word
Biographical Photo Books — 1,000 words max @ $0.15/word
Biographical Guidebooks / Lesson Books — 1,000 words max @ $0.15/word
Biographical Recipe Books — 2,500 words max @ $0.15/word
Professional Biographies — 1,000 words max @ $0.15/word
Copy editing autobiographies — $50/1,000 words (includes proofreading and editing)
- additional research and editorial assessment is $100/1,000
* If you’d like to go above the word maximum for a project, each additional word is $0.05 more than the base price per word. For example, each additional word beyond 10,000 words for a traditional biography would cost $0.20/word.
Project Formats
Digital — no additional fee
Printed — project base cost + domestic printing & shipping costs
Audio — $100/hour of production recording + $20/minute for final audio story
Video — $150/hour of production videography + $25/minute for final video
Photography —$50 for a 30-minute photo shoot or $100 for an hour of photography
Transcriptions of Audiovisual files — $150/1 hour recording
* Please note: Get the copyrights to your unedited audio recordings, videos, and/or photos for $100/project.
* Additional editing requests for any project after the final edit (3rd draft) has been presented are $50/editing session (30 min. max).

The Storytelling Process
Ready to learn more about working with Storytelling By Seraaj, LLC. (SBS) to produce your life story? Here’s what to generally expect during the SBS storytelling process and what comes within most project packages:
- pay the nonrefundable $50 deposit
- brainstorming & project outlining during the consultation
- project outline approval
- project scheduling
- pay 50% of the most current invoice as down payment
* Additional services added will be included in an updated invoice. Customers will make routine payments for the remaining 50% of their most current invoice. Those payments must be made in concurrence with the project-completion schedule.
- interviews, audio recordings, and/or observations of the main subject(s), family members, friends, associates, business partners, and/or romantic partners, etc.
- project component completion payment
- Gathering of personal photos, videos, writings, and/or audio recordings
- candid and/or staged photography and/or videography
- project component completion payment
- story outline approval
- 1st draft approval
- project component completion payment
- 2nd draft approval
- project component completion payment
- final draft presentation & approval
- project component completion payment and final edits
- additional story edits
* These fees must be paid fully before services initiate, if they are requested after an approved final draft. Additional editing requests will be discussed in a meeting, not to exceed one hour. The editing review consultation fee is $150. This fee covers all editing requests made during the review, except story rewrites, nonlinear audiovisual editing, and graphic design. Those services follow the most current-listed standard service pricing. All requests must be clearly defined, explained, and agreed upon before done.
