Strafe Esports 2.8 — Gearing up for a new adventure!
Gear — A new way to master the Strafe Score game.
Eight seasons have passed since the release of Strafe Score 2.0 and the way to the top leagues has been a challenging one! We’re now looking at creating an even more enjoyable experience for all users by introducing Gear — a way to amplify the number of points get for each prediction!
The Gear update will initially be released in beta for CS:GO followers. Once we’ve perfected the game, we’ll roll out the full experience for all esports titles!
How does Gear work?
In the current game you place a vote, wait for the match to finish and then receive a certain number of points depending on the outcome of the match and the underlying odds.
With the introduction of Gear, we’re adding another layer on top of the standard procedure. Once your vote is placed you can then affect the number of points you receive by using a Gear!
After placing a Gear it’s locked until the match is finished. A correct vote will make it possible to use it once again, however an incorrect vote will actually break your Gear. This means you’ll have to wait for the cooldown period in order to use your Gear, or you can instantly restore it using Health Kits.
The addition of Gear will make users cherry-pick the matches they think will generate the highest number of points leading to, what we believe, a more entertaining Strafe Score game! Read more about Strafe Score here!
What’s next?
With the release of Strafe Esports 2.8, we’ll continue to perfect the Strafe Score game. This means making the latest version available for all esports titles and adding more features. Going forward, we’re also looking at improving the calendar, match and news feed pages as well as an update to the notification system.
