The Conservancy of Southwest Florida is extremely pleased Governor Ron DeSantis’ selection of Charlette Roman for a seat on the South Florida Water Management District’s Governing Board. Our staff has had the privilege of working with Roman during her service as a Marco Island Planning Board member, an At-Large Environmental Commissioner on the Collier County Planning Commission, and most recently as a member of Marco Island’s City Council. As an elected and appointed official, she takes the time to study the issues, hear from the experts and public, and suggest solutions that result in fair and balanced outcomes.

Her 26-years of service as a soldier in the U.S. Army demonstrates her commitment to her country, and her service on local planning boards, city council and numerous volunteer activities reinforces her commitment to the community. We look forward to working with Ms. Roman in her new role as a Governing Board member.
