The Conservancy Nature Center may be closed, but the amazing work from our teams continues on!

The von Arx Wildlife Hospital is still accepting new patients every single day. We would also like to say thank you to all of the people who donated to the von Arx Wildlife Hospital’s recent Wildlife Baby Shower!

Our local community, as well as people who follow us on social media from around the country, donated hundreds of items from our Amazon Wish List — items that are always needed inside the hospital in order to provide the best care possible to all the injured and orphaned animals that are admitted. So far, we received nearly 150 Amazon packages and hundreds of gifts.

If you didn’t get a chance to participate and would like to, the Wish List is still active and there are still items there that the hospital always needs.

You can access the Wish List here: https://amzn.to/3dGhZWi

Our Environmental Policy & Advocacy team has been working hard to fight the new proposed toll roads known as M-CORES. We are part of a coalition called No Roads to Ruin that uses the collective power of multiple organizations to take a hard line against these proposed roads.

The Environmental Science team is in full swing monitoring sea turtle nesting on Keewaydin Island.

You can also learn more about our Kemp’s ridley sea turtle research by watching a brand new video from Research Manager Dr. Jeff Schmid about how & why studying turtle poop plays a part in making sure this endangered species never goes extinct.
