I have been a Technologist at strategio for almost 5 weeks and wanted to share my experience.
First a little background:
I did not exactly come from the world of tech. I did a course in data analytics and had worked with data on a pretty low level (excel spreadsheets and such), and did a Java course in high school.
I started the program a little hesitantly and felt like I was a bit of an imposter due to the fact that most of the other Technologists had degrees in CS or had at least done a boot camp while I just had a course or two up my sleeve.
Starting the program:
It only took a short time before my hesitation turned into wonder and excitement as I started to delve more deeply into the world of software development and the Cloud.
The learning is immersive, and yet structured in a way that allowed even someone relatively new to the field to learn fast (as long as they put in the work obviously), the other Technologists are very knowledgable and patient, not to mention our ESL (enterprise simulator leader) who is running the program has been absolutely phenomenal from day one.
As we pass the halfway point:
I reflect upon my decision to take a chance and do something that is not necessarily in my comfort zone, and realize that this could be a cornerstone in my life, which opened to me a world of possibilities and ideas (many thanks to my wife for pushing me to try).
I have come a long way from week one, and still have a ways to go, but I am excited for every second!
I have been introduced to a whole new world, where it seems like I could keep going forever and still have that much more to learn (especially since Tech keeps advancing faster than we can keep up).
