Describe yourself in 3 words
Trustworthy — trustworthiness is a trait that I highly value in myself and others. It’s so much easier to interact and collaborate with people who can be reliable, and dependable in their actions and words, isn’t it?
Introspective — I constantly reflect on my actions and mental patterns and search for ways to learn, improve and grow.
Activator — borrowing this word from CliftonStrength personality assessment. Basically, it means that I’m up for a challenge and I make things happen. I thought it was pretty accurate. (Btw look this test up, you may learn some interesting things about yourself that will help you advance your career and personal life!)
Why did you join Strategio’s Simulator?
Joining Strategio was an excellent opportunity to get hands-on experience with various tools and technologies within the DevOps realm, join a top-level company, and become a part of an incredible community.
What were you doing before you joined Strategio?
I quit my job in transportation and went through a web development boot camp Ironhack where I learned the fundamentals and best practices of modern web development and again…met amazing people and became a part of an incredible community. “It’s who you know, not what you know”.
What are you most excited about this year?
Starting this new career is already a big highlight of 2023. Besides that, I’m excited to continue my Brazilian zouk dance training and spend quality time with family and friends. I’m looking forward to the experiences and adventures that life has in store for me!
What made you decide to get into tech?
For many years I have been curious about tech and fascinated by how rapidly technology changes the landscape of people’s lives. But never have I ever thought I was actually able to do it. Looking for career switch opportunities during spring 2022 I realized — oh yes, I can. Here I am now:)
What do you like to do during your spare time?
In my free time, I like spending time outdoors, going for long walks and hikes. Also, I am passionate about partner dancing, staying active through exercise and yoga, and having meaningful conversations with close friends and new acquaintances.
What is your favorite cultural value at Strategio?
Being unapologetically yourself — This is actually one of the intentions I set for this year — show up authentically, show up as my true self. So it feels like a perfect alignment.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
To so many places…A hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia, Turkey is definitely on my bucket list.
What’s your favorite restaurant?
“Pura Vida” is one of my go-to places for breakfast or lunch. They have multiple locations throughout Miami and their food is both delicious and nutritious. Their Sunset Harbour location, in particular, not only offers great food but also has a beautiful ambiance and interior design that inspired me for an e-commerce project I worked on during the boot camp.
