Describe yourself in 3 words.

I would describe myself as curious because I’m willing to search for a topic and gather many resources to assist my knowledge.

I would describe myself as methodical because I like to break up assignments to lower the burden of what needs to be completed before a deadline.

I would describe myself as reliable because if I need something to be done, I want to make sure it’s complete and not have to stress about it later.

Why did you join Strategio’s Simulator?

I joined Strategio’s Simulator because I want to restore my skills in Java, and Python from learning during college and through personal projects. Furthermore, I want to absorb new knowledge on subjects I have little experience with, such as Docker and AWS.

What were you doing before you joined Strategio?

Before I joined Strategio I was working on building my resume by studying & taking certification exams from AWS and CompTIA. I wanted to get the CompTIA certifications in IT Fundamentals & A+ which is a core certification for getting roles as a Help Desk Technician or Desktop Specialist. I took the Cloud Practitioner certification from AWS because I saw AWS as a skill listed on many open job positions for Full Stack or Software Engineer roles on LinkedIn.

What are you most excited about this year?

I am most excited about getting the opportunity to use my time getting my computer science degree and achieving certifications for a related position.

What made you decide to get into tech?

I got into tech during my sophomore year of college when I was majoring in accounting at first. Then, I picked up learning Python with tutorials after my economics professor mentioned utilizing programming with accounting. This led me to drop my major from accounting and take up courses in computer science as my new major.

What do you like to do during your spare time?

During my spare time on the weekends, I enjoy going to Film at Lincoln Center in New York City to watch classic films that were recently restored in 4K, which is the newest high-quality release for the films.

What is your favorite cultural value at Strategio?

My favorite cultural value at Strategio is Fail-fast and Learn because making mistakes and building upon them through practice or revision is important for me to lead to better experiences in the future.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I would enjoy traveling to London because I would finally get the opportunity to see a live football match of Tottenham Hotspurs versus any of their rivals like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United.

What’s your favorite restaurant?

I can’t think of a favorite restaurant right now, however, some of my favorite foods are rice & beans, pizza, quesadilla, and ramen.

What are you looking forward to learning/gaining during the Strategio Simulator?
