Describe yourself in 3 words
Ingenuitive — Are you *supposed* to use a vacuum to clean up leaves? No. Did I do it? Yes! Did it work? Also yes! I love to think about the different ways the things around me interact and to find new ways they *could* interact
Humorous — I firmly believe that humor is the key to a long happy life, you have to be able to laugh at your own mistakes and all the twists and turns life will take you through
Intentional — I work purposely towards my goals, incorporating new knowledge along the way, and always keeping my values in mind
What are you most excited about this year?
Taking time to breathe and focus on what truly drives and inspires me. 2021 was a very stressful, emotional, and pivotal year for me. It was when I committed to living in an intentional way. This year I’m excited to work on realizing that.
What made you decide to get into tech?
Sheer dumb luck. Throughout my life, I have been consistently placed into roles that required technology, I always viewed them as a necessary means to an end. It took me a very long time to realize that technology was more than just 1’s and 0’s, it’s the ability to create, adapt, and inspire.
What were you doing before you joined Strategio?
Testing a theory. As I said, I had always had tech adjacent jobs, but last year I decided to be more intentional with them. I took a 3-month coding BootCamp to decide if web/software development was for me. (Spoiler Alert: It Was!!)
Why did you join Strategio’s Simulator?
The day I created my first original website was the first time I truly understood I had a calling in tech. I understood what I was passionate about now but I needed to figure out where to do it. It is incredibly important to me to put energy into projects, and companies that reflect my values. Learn, grow and stay true to myself? Yes, please!
What is your favorite cultural value at Strategio?
Be unapologetically yourself.
What do you like to do during your spare time?
Travel & eat! I’m a big foodie and I feel like you can get to know a lot about other cultures just by learning about their food.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
This is such a long list for me! Right now I’m thinking about South Africa, Egypt, and Sicily.
What’s your favorite restaurant?
Anything quirky! And also Chipotle.
