Voice of Customer: Ski Apps Comparison

There’s an app for everything now. Movie theaters have apps, theme parks have apps, and even sports have apps, such as skiing. There are many apps related to skiing, from ski trackers to snow-reporting software, all at your finger tips. If you do find the time to go skiing, there are a host of outdoorsy apps that are useful in optimizing your time at the mountain. Whether it’s keeping an eye on everyone’s location, or tracking vertical feet, you can do so through a ski app. Since there are a lot of ski apps to choose from, we at Stratifyd decided to take a look at a couple of them, and what their users are talking about.

TraceSnow and Liftopia are 2 of the most popular apps in the iOS App Store. With Stratifyd Signals’ built-in data connector, it’s a breeze to extract and analyze reviews.

Trace Snow is a unique app that is programmed to accurately measure your speed, vertical, calories, distance, time, airtime, and many more. The real-time statistics will surely help you closely monitor your progress. Trace Snow has been recognized as the official application that users should use in Mt. Tremblant, Snowshoe, Blue Mountain, China Peak, Streamboat, and Stoneham.

So, what does voice-of-customer say about this app? And why do they like it more than many others out there? Some users mentioned the “leader board” feature, which is one of the benefits of using this app. The leader board is the comprehensive list of the users who are top ranked on this application and you’re encouraged to compete and put yourself on the board! Other users like this feature because they enjoy some friendly competitions with friends. People rave about the real-time statistics, the accuracy of speed calculation, and that it even tells you how many calories you’ve burned on the slope.

Another thing that users prize in ski apps is stability. According to the reviews, many claim that you can use the app to track your progress for days without experiencing any functional problem. On top of that, people with this app appreciate the fact that it uses very little power and so you can rest assured that your battery is in safe hands. However, many have also pointed out that if you run the GPS features continuously, your battery gets used up faster. It is wise to switch if off if your battery is running low.

Liftopia (Free)

This app offers so many uses and purposes that most of its users absolutely love this app and give it an almost perfect five star rating. They go on about how much money it can save them, the fact you can check snow conditions before heading out, and how you can view all kinds of helpful information. This is perfect for those hills close to home, and when you’re traveling and you aren’t necessarily familiar with the skiing options and conditions. Even though there are many ski apps on the market, Liftopia is still the go-to app when you want to get access to exclusive discounts, deals, and promotions.

Users also love that the app is partnered with some of the biggest ski resorts out there so you are guaranteed incredible information. This information covers such things as the resort amenities, the snow conditions, a ski and snow report, driving directions, terrain details, and even approximate wait time at the slope. Skiers also enjoy the feature that allows you to mark resorts as favorites so you will be able to quickly find them and their special offers.

Users love all the discounts and promotions you can get from this app; some even dub it the best app for budget skiers! However they also think the app can improve on the layout. Liftopia may not be the most sleek looking ski app but users are willing to look past it because the information you are given and the money you can save.

Another area where skiers feel this app falls short in is the accuracy. Some have pointed out that the accuracy of snow condition is off sometimes, and wonder if the information is updated daily.
