In today’s scenario if you want to sell a brand new product to the younger generation where the marketing should be done?

Newspapers? — NO!

Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, Google? — YES!!.

How should I apply for advertising on these platforms? Google AdWord, Facebook Ad Word and so on.. Are they 100% trustable? Will the content be shown to proper human viewers? Am I getting proper returns of money invested for CPC(Cost Per Clicks — The amount of money to be paid to Ad agency for per 1000 clicks) ?

These are the questions which come in mind of any new advertiser. Everyone knows the above agency cannot give proper assurance weather advertise is seen by proper viewer or a robot. Is the validation of clicks done in secure manner?

These are just algorithms which can be fooled. MethBot was successful in doing so.

MethBot is a recent biggest fraud in online advertising. A single Russian group was controlling it. Methbot successfully trespassed all the checks by different ad companies by mimicking human like behavior. It further went ahead and cloned around 2,50,000 URL of renowned websites and requested for Ads. Then it generated fake clicks and traffic as high as 5,50,000 + viewers watching Ads and creating average CPM of $13.04. It generated the cyber-crime group revenue of $3 to $5 million per day. This is just one of the crimes; many such frauds are committed regularly. Still we trust the third party organizations. WHY? Because there is no other option present!

ROLE OF BLOCKCHAIN:

The introduction of blockchain technology in the digital advertisement industry is going to be a revolutionary change. Blockchain will rule out the third parties and trust issues. Combined with simple AI (Artificial Intelligence) fraudulent activities can be easier to detect and track. Tracking will be easier and more efficient due to the systematic algorithms of blockchain. The system will become more transparent, every Ad can be tracked by the clients. The list of viewers, clicks will all be available for everyone. Block chain’s immutability will also be automatically inherited. No changes can be made by anyone in the number of clicks. The growth of unwarranted surveillance of the users’ behavior by the Ad companies is now leading to high use of Ad Blockers. This plagues the system as potential consumers cannot be reached. Due to complete transparency in blockchain the fear of the user will fade. New trust relationships will be established between developers, publishers and users. This will strengthen the community leading in a healthy ecosystem for high economic growth on all ends. Due to use of Blockchain every publisher can also be heavily compensated. The pricing will be fairer.

In a nutshell, blockchain can perform wonders in the digital advertisement world if executed properly.
