“We use the information we collect from all of our services to provide, maintain, protect and improve them, to develop new ones, and to protect Google and our users. We also use this information to offer you tailored content — like giving you more relevant search results and ads.” — Google Privacy policy.

This is the basic infrastructure on which all Google applications work. The extent to which they are surveying the user is yet not clear. Safety of our information and to whom is it being given is unknown. The huge data storage giants like Facebook and Google who are always prompt in showing us the advertisements of the thing which we “just thought of” have placed a ban on cryptocurrency advertisements. The companies are too powerful, know too much, willfully crush whole industries and, apparently, can be easily hoodwinked.

Whether logged in or not data from our computers and smartphones in consistently being tracked. Our personal data is unsafe in the hands of tech-Gods. Their recent ban on cryptocurrency ads raises suspicion. Are they actually misusing our data? Are the privacy rights of users being violated? Why are the Companies, who have experimented in every field of the new tech as soon as the concept has arrived, are not experimenting with blockchain?

These questions raise a huge question,ARE THE TECH GODS AFRAID OF BLOCKCHAIN?.

Blockchain can actually be a huge threat to these companies. It undermines their core business competencies. It facilitates without the need for a third party monitoring system. The decentralization will bring a transparency to the system and will rule out the need for mountains of user data stored by Google and Facebook to serve ads. Loss of data occurs even though end-to-end encryption is present due to the problems in exchanged meta-data that is also exchanged with the messages. Blockchain-based social networking will offer greater security and privacy.

Blockchain will help with better management of data. Users can use blockchain just like Dropbox and store their data directly on a block which is then encrypted and distributed over the complete block. The data can also be made available whenever the private key is inserted by the user. This will help in faster data management and a more secure one. No third party will be able to easily access the block keeping the data safe. The only disadvantage of such database platform using blockchain is that it needs faster computing power but it will certainly be possible in the near future.

As my previous article stated about ad-frauds by the giants, this can also be stopped by blockchain.

Overall, many applications provided by the web giants can be converted to a blockchain platform successfully once everyone has the proper computing technology. As the Tech Gods rely on the data they are collecting by tracking users, this will lead to their downfall after the rise of blockchain and the era of trust between users and providers.
