Stream for a Cause Makes its Mark Around the Globe

This June, Stream for a Cause (SfaC) is thrilled to announce their month-long campaign in celebration of Pride. In its second year, the SfaC community is going global, and proceeds raised from over 70 charity streams and events throughout the month will help create grants for small, community-based nonprofits on every continent (Yes, even Antarctica).

Why Paint the World Rainbow?

We are so excited to be celebrating Pride and our Paint the World Rainbow campaign this year surrounded by so much love, support, and consideration for the LGBTQIA+ community. This Pride month celebration wouldn’t be possible without the support of our volunteers, sponsors, and supporters. Stream for a Cause is able to be an amazing hub of community support and activism because of each of these wonderful groups coming together with the mutual interest of making the world a better place one stream and grant at a time. It is rare, if not impossible, for one person to make a difference on their own, but SfaC isn’t one person. We are a team that prove we can make a difference together. Take it from one of our volunteers, Ponyo_Plays. “Paint the World Rainbow is all about sowing the massive impact that close-knit communities can have when we stand together. SfaC’s reach is going global, and I am so excited to play a part in this campaign! There’s so much to celebrate and support around the world, and streamers of all sizes and backgrounds are working hard to unite in support of worldwide Pride.

For our “Paint the World Rainbow” campaign, we are excited to connect funding to organizations all over the world which work to advance the support for LGBTQIA+ people. This campaign isn’t simply about making a donation in June for Pride, but kicking off a year of support for our grant receiving organizations. The idea of giving for clout is performative, and many LGBTQIA+ organizations only receive support in June, when it is “expected” to do so. Instead, SfaC will be working alongside these grant recipients over the coming year to continue to uplift LGBTQIA+ communities.”

Streamers like Ponyo_Plays (who is live on June 23rd at 6 pm EST), are working together with individual streams to help fund SfaC’s ongoing support of LGBTQIA+ organizations. With many individual streams, as well as a Dead by Daylight Tournameme hosted by HiDro and LosingColor on June 12th, an Apex Legends Tournament on June 25th hosted by Team Overture, and a second Dead by Daylight Tournament hosted by JombieJuice on the 25th and 26th, there are many avenues and opportunities to find out what Stream for a Cause is all about.

Who They Are

Stream for a Cause started in July of 2020 as a response to the idea that only large content creators are capable of making a difference. Even in its earliest days, SfaC has proven that there is no streamer too “small” to step up and change the world. The mission is to reinvent the way we give, which is why Stream for a Cause has been helping content creators of all sizes reimagine what charity streaming can look like. For two years, SfaC staff and streamers alike have been working hand-in-hand to raise almost two hundred thousand dollars in transformational grants to community-based nonprofits who need them most.

Every single organization that receives funding from Stream for a Cause is well-researched and thoroughly vetted to make sure that dollars raised by streamers and their close-knit communities will benefit something they can easily stand behind. Selected nonprofits are committed to making a difference and guarantee responsible and efficient use of the funding raised by the Stream for a Cause community. By selecting organizations and missions suggested by volunteers, SfaC is able to keep a finger on the pulse of what matters to those in the gaming community. Previous grants include funding for animal shelters, gender-affirming therapy for children, and a large variety of community support. The list goes on as Stream for a Cause and their volunteer streamers make one thing clear: anyone can shake up the charity streaming game.

Getting Involved

Streamers interested in volunteering with Stream for a Cause can help out in two ways; First, a streamer can register and to become a charity streaming volunteer, receiving all the one-on-one help they need to plan their charity stream, while earning rewards through their Streamer Incentive Program. Alternatively, streamers can also simply create a campaign directly to support SfaC through Streamlabs Charity at any time. For those wishing to be more involved, they can do so by visiting the Stream for a Cause website and work alongside the SfaC staff to create unique and engaging charity streams. Their staff will guide volunteers through the entire process, helping to create a charity stream tailored to the volunteer’s community. They will even assist in creating the Streamlabs Fundraiser campaign, making sure that everything is working properly before the charity event. Stream for a Cause believes charity streams should be fun, rather than a logistical nightmare, and works alongside each creator to make sure their unique charity stream will focus on entertainment and community.

In addition, streamers who sign up to work with Stream for a Cause are automatically enrolled in their unique incentive program. SfaC knows that planning an effective charity stream can be a lot of work, so they set aside a portion of their budget to reinvest in their volunteer creators. Streamers can earn computer upgrades, games, giveaways, whatever they need to help their channel thrive because as volunteers grow, so does Stream for a Cause’s ability to invest in life-changing organizations. Be part of this rapidly growing charity that believes that content creators have the power to change the world.
