Here at Streamlabs we appreciate each and every one of our creators and love to see them succeed. From large streamers to small, you can all make a meaningful impact. To showcase that, we reached out to Demongon from DracosDomain to ask a few questions about his charity streaming.
What’s your favourite part about streaming for charity?
Streaming for a good cause always hits differently. The support you see in a community to make a difference no matter how small is incredible.
What advice would you give to other streamers thinking about hosting a fundraising stream?
Fundraise for a cause that you truly care about. Passion towards a charity is key towards a successful fundraising stream.
Tell us a bit about your latest charity event and why you chose to support Stand Up To Cancer.
I had a cancer called Lymphoma when I was 7 years old. I’m 32 years old and a Proud Survivor so I’ve won my battle and would love to see everyone win theirs.
We are raising awareness of all cancers every month. Last Month was Lymphoma Awareness month and this month is Breast Cancer Awareness month and so on.
Charity streaming can be difficult. How do you prepare yourself for a stream?
Make a checklist of important tasks that need to be completed before a stream starts. Figure out incentives, what to stream, assets for the stream and more. It might be difficult at first but once you get through that initial checklist then the rest of the streaming flows beautifully enough to focus on the charity, what you’re streaming, and the chat.
When you’re not streaming, what do you like to spend your free time doing?
I’m a Funko Pop collector with over 300+ Funko Pops (love me some Batman and Pokemon Pops). I love playing games even when I’m off stream like Fall Guys, Pokemon (Charizard is the best, change my mind) and Super Mario Maker 2. I also love Pixel Art and just designing characters and landscapes (attempting animation).
Charity streams can be very rewarding. Is there a time that stands out to you as the most memorable?
Just seeing the amount of positivity in the chat makes my day. My favourite moment is the first day streaming and hitting almost all incentives from juggling balls and making balloon animals to doing squats and drinking scorpion pepper sauce. We have raised over 1800 USD and are still going strong. With the help of Stand Up To Cancer, I’m finally part of a Twitch team too.
