On the hunt: Ann (CA)
Interview with Ann, Street art cities hunter from Montreal, Canada
Name: Ann
Occupation: Project Management
Hometown: Montreal
Hunting territory: Montreal + travel zones
Member of Street art cities community since: Almost from the beginning.

Tell us about your connection with street art: I discovered street art and its different genres in 2013. It came about pretty organically in that I was spending more time in the city and started noticing various forms of art on walls — murals, graffiti, wheat pastes etc. I’ve always been into photography, but when I started taking photos of street art, it wasn’t with the intention of doing anything with the shots. I decided to have street art be the focus of my Instagram account because it was a way to share my city and I mean, what else was I going to do with the photos? I've been learning more and more about street art since then.
Does your current occupation match with your childhood dreams? Nope! I wanted to be a lawyer or a homicide detective *laughs*. Obviously I changed my mind somewhere along the way.
You can see my work on:
My most recent discovery in the street art scene is:

My biggest street art crush is: It‘s hard to narrow it down when there are so many talented artists out there, but off the top of my head — Findac, INTI, Miss Van, Steep, Daniel Eime, Telmo Miel.
Local artist that in my opinion, deserves more exposure: Dodo Ose, Ankh, Fluke, Mateo.
Besides street art, I am most passionate about: Traveling, writing, photography.
In my free time, I like to: Take pictures and travel — the two go hand in hand! I also like to get my yoga on and hang out with my dog.
My current musical obsession is: The same it’s always been….. U2 baby!
The last film I watched was: Hector and the Search for Happiness
The last book I read was: The House of Hawthorne by Erika Robuck
The website that consumes most of my time is: Instagram
The #1 thing on my bucket list is: I wouldn’t mind hiking Machu Picchu.
My hunting kit includes: DSLR, iPhone, battery pack, cable, baseball cap and good walking shoes.

My newest purchase related to street art: An Axel Void print entitled Never Mind from The Crystal Ship series.
What I like most about hunting street art: It’s a great way to get to know a city, whether it be my own or cities I visit during my travels. I’ve also connected with some pretty cool individuals in the US and the EU.
As a street art hunter, I would love to visit: Łódź.
The biggest challenge of being a hunter is: You mean besides cars obstructing my shots, or bad light? I’d say keeping up to date on all the new stuff that goes up then figuring out where it’s located.
The best piece of advice I can give to newbie hunters is: Develop your own photographic style and if you’re going to post photos then choose quality over quantity. Also, explore everything!
What is one artwork that people need to see in your hunting territory? El Mac’s The Mother Creator

Thanks for the interview, Ann!
