StreetLib BootCamp: Kampala

Still looking to expand our reach and explore new markets, we are pleased to welcome aboard Andrew Langley, our new manager for Southern and Eastern Africa. I had the pleasure of meeting Andrew and giving him the full StreetLib BootCamp experience in Kampala, Uganda.

In one fell swoop, Botswana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, Rwanda, South Africa, South Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe are all getting a StreetLib manager! While each and every one of these countries has its own rich culture, languages and dialects, they also all use English as a lingua franca, making it easier for us to reach them.

Andrew is actually a StreetLiber in his own right, who has been publishing his books with us and keeping up with our news for a while. When I announced that we were looking for people to help us expand into every unexplored region of the world, he reached out and enthusiastically offered his services for sub-Saharan African.

I quickly realised he was a perfect fit for the job. And that is why, last week, I went there to meet him and give him my full StreetLib BootCamp. He has actually been living in this part of Africa for about 20 years (if I remember correctly), and is currently based in Kampala, Uganda, with his wife and kids.

Our working space for the BootCamp week. Andrew and myself at the Skyhotel in Kampala, Uganda

He is now ready and fully equipped to start his StreetLib adventure, and I can’t wait to see more and more people join StreetLib from all these countries. There is a lot of work to be done and many exciting prospects ahead for these markets. You’ll soon hear about them all from Andrew himself so: stay tuned!
