Recognizing Your New Season of Greatness

The Bible encourages believers to grow “from glory to glory.”

“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit”. II Corinthians 3:18 (NIV).

This phrase signifies continuous spiritual growth and an upward trajectory in our faith journey. As Christians, it’s crucial to recognize when we are moving into a new season of greatness. Understanding the signs that indicate this transition can help us embrace and maximize the opportunities God has prepared for us. Here are key indicators that you are entering a new season of greatness:

1. Increased Desire to Pray

One of the first signs that you are moving into a new season of greatness is an intensified desire to pray. Prayer is a powerful tool that connects us with God, and an increased longing to spend time in prayer often signals spiritual growth and readiness for new challenges and blessings.

Why Prayer Matters?

Prayer is our direct line of communication with God. It allows us to express our needs, desires, and gratitude. When you notice a heightened desire to pray, it is often because God is preparing your heart and mind for the great things He has in store. This increased prayer life can lead to deeper spiritual insights and greater alignment with God’s will.

To embrace this season, set aside dedicated time for prayer. Create a quiet space where you can connect with God without distractions. Use this time to seek His guidance and ask for strength to navigate the new season you are entering.

2. Increased Desire to Give Sacrificially

Another significant indicator of moving into greatness is a growing desire to give sacrificially. Generosity is a hallmark of a mature Christian faith, and a willingness to give beyond your comfort zone often precedes a season of blessing and expansion.

The power of sacrificial giving means offering something valuable, often at a personal cost, to benefit others or further God’s kingdom. This act of selflessness reflects Jesus’ love and can open doors to new opportunities and blessings. As Luke 6:38 (NIV) says, “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.”

Identify areas where you can give more generously, whether it be your time, resources, or talents. Consider supporting a ministry, helping someone in need, or contributing to your church. Trust that God will honour your sacrifices and multiply your blessings in return.

3. Facing Unusual Demonic Opposition

When you are on the brink of greatness, it is not uncommon to face increased spiritual warfare. Unusual demonic opposition can manifest as challenges, setbacks, or discouragements. Recognizing these attacks for what they are can help you stay steadfast in your faith.

Understanding Spiritual Warfare Ephesians 6:12 (NIV) reminds us, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” These battles are often sign’s that you are on the right path and that the enemy is trying to thwart God’s plans for your life.

Overcoming opposition arm yourself with the full armour of God Ephesians 6:13–17 (NIV) and stay rooted in prayer. Seek support from fellow believers and maintain a positive, faith-filled attitude. Remember that these trials are temporary and that God has already secured your victory.

4. Desire to Withdraw from Everyone

A desire to withdraw from social interactions and spend more time in solitude can also indicate that you are moving into a new season of greatness. This period of isolation can be crucial for reflection, growth, and preparation for what lies ahead.

The importance of solitude allows for deep introspection and a stronger connection with God. Jesus Himself often withdrew to solitary places to pray and seek God’s guidance “But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed”. Luke 5:16 (NIV). During these times, you can gain clarity and strength for the journey ahead.

Use your time alone to read the Bible, pray, and meditate on God’s promises. Reflect on your life and identify areas that need improvement. Solitude can also help you develop a greater sense of self-awareness and purpose.

Moving from glory to glory is an ongoing process that requires dedication, faith, and an openness to God’s leading. By recognizing the signs of entering a new season of greatness — increased prayer life, sacrificial giving, facing spiritual opposition, and a desire for solitude — you can prepare yourself to embrace the fullness of God’s plans.

Final Thoughts

Remember, growth in the Christian faith is a continuous journey. Each new season brings its own set of challenges and opportunities. Trust in God’s timing and remain steadfast in your faith. Embrace the signs of greatness and move forward with confidence, knowing that God is with you every step of the way.

May you continue to grow from glory to glory, experiencing the abundant life that God has promised.
