The Holy Spirit

Prompting

John 14:25–27 NIV

“All this I have spoken while still with you. [26] But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. [27] Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

Earlier this week I was asked: Who is the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit is God!

We need to understand the Trinity in order to better understand this. The Trinity consists of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Christians do not worship more than one God. Jesus Christ was God in human form. As we accept Christ, the Holy Spirit lives inside us and helps us grow closer to God.

Have you ever felt a God Nudge that prompted to check on someone or stop what you’re doing to pray? Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night with the need to pray, only to discover someone in your life was struggling or hurting?

The Holy Spirit speaks to us in a variety of ways, but we need to be attuned to it, to listen. Sometimes we get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of life that we fail to listen to the promptings of the Holy Spirit!
