After taking the StrengthsFinder assessment, you end up with either your Top 5 Themes, or your complete profile with all 34 Themes. There are four domains and each Theme belongs to one of them.
Below is the list of domains and the themes associated with each. You’ll notice in the Strength in a Story navigation menu, we’ve broken up Themes into these four categories, to make it easier to navigate.
It’s important to understand that the domains, like the themes, are in no way labels. If all of your themes fall under one of the domains (for example Strategic Thinking), it does not suggest you are incapable of being strong in one of the other domains (for example Relationship Building). All it means is that you will go about building relationships, influencing others, and executing tasks in a fundamentally different way to others. This is the beauty of human behaviour, we can achieve similar things but we all do it in our own unique way, StrengthsFinder acknowledges this, and builds upon it.

The Four Domains
Leaders with great Strategic Thinking strengths are the ones who keep us all focused on what could be. They are constantly absorbing and analysing information and helping the team make better decisions. People with strength in this domain continually stretch our thinking for the future.
Leaders with dominant strength in the Executing domain know how to make things happen. When you need someone to implement a solution, these are the people who will work tirelessly to get it done. Leaders with a strength to execute have the ability to “catch” an idea and make it a reality.
Those who lead by Influencing help their team reach a much broader audience. People with strength in this domain are always selling the team’s ideas inside and outside the organisation. When you need someone to take charge, speak up, and make sure your group is heard, look to someone with the strength to influence.
Those who lead through Relationship Building are the essential glue that holds a team together. Without these strengths on a team, in many cases, the group is simply a composite of individuals. In contrast, leaders with exceptional Relationship Building strength have the unique ability to create groups and organisations that are much greater than the sum of their parts.
If you find that all of your themes, for example, are from the ‘Relationship Building’ domain, it doesn’t mean you lack the ability to think strategically. It simply means you will think strategically in a different way to someone who has say high Influencing themes etc. Keep this in mind as you discover which domains your themes belong to by looking at the list below.
Analytical, Context, Futuristics, Ideation, Input, Intellection, Learner, Strategic.
Achiever, Arranger, Belief, Consistency, Deliberative, Discipline, Focus, Responsibility, Restorative.
