Back again: STRICHPUNKT Reading List #14

We admit: It’s been a while, since we’ve last listed our reads of the week. Time to catch up with interesting articles, reviews and thoughts we came across on the web and that the STRICHPUNKT crew wants to share:

#1: The Power of Branding

Our first pick guides you through the subject of branding: what it is, how it works and how you can use it to help improve your business or the perception of your service. Spoiler: The power of branding, the set of associations and perceptions in people’s mind, is elucidated in the following quote from a Coca-Cola Executive:

“(…) if all consumers were to have a sudden lapse of memory and forget everything related to Coca-Cola, the company would go out of business.”

#2: Multicultural design: adapting visual systems from Western to Eastern countries

Not only our recent work for WM Motor, a new Chinese e-mobility provider, has shown: mulitcultural aspects such as typography and language barriers need to be taken carefully into account when building a brand from scratch. A brand that seeks to stand out from others in the domestic market and at the same time aspires a global approach.

#3: What Marketers need to know about V-Commerce

There’s no doubt, virtual reality is becoming a practical reality in the shopping experience. In the near future, it will also become a key strategy of the customer journey. The shift from e- to v-commerce, the buying and selling of products and services in virtual and augmented reality, has started now.

#4: Lucasfilm: The Future Of VR Is ‘Story-Living’

Will virtual reality be so ubiquitous one day that everyone will end up in a persistent digital world as some science-fiction stories predict? Mohen Leo, the director of content and platform strategy at Lucasfilm division ILMxLAB, suggests that the future of VR and augmented reality might be more nuanced than that.
