String’s 2nd in-person meetup @ Meta: Raw data from design workshop
Unprocessed input from primarily educators and partners in education
Design jams are a great way to arrive at insights of users and build better products and programs. I happened to watch senior designers run a couple of session in the past weeks but yesterday was my first time really leading and anchoring such a large crowd with a huge time handicap. This is the raw data and another follow-up to-come with synthesized findings.
Exercise 1: What is EduTech — brainwrite on post-it
Learning/ After Action Review
- Set rules on how to write, e.g. <10 words, one idea per post-it
- If time permitted, get participants to unpack the answer
- Further scaffold beyond the examples of ChatGPT, iExams and tease the idea of competencies to see if it resonates
Exercise 2: Sentiments towards self and EduTech ecosystem
I call it in-person Mentimeter — participants were asked to leave a stroke | on a linear scale of whether they agree/ disagree with the statement
Learning/ After Action Review
- Forgot/ needed to get people to unpack their views towards the statements with post-its
- The sentiments are honestly fairly surprising but will explain why after processing
The Google Meetup has already synthesized findings about attitudes towards’ teacher-tech professional development that will be updated with a backlink soon.
