Netflix & Chill: Still Our Favorite Go-To Date Night After 31 Years

There’s something timeless about Netflix and Chill, isn’t there? After 31 wonderful years of marriage, it’s still our go-to date night. Whether it’s cuddling up to binge-watch the latest hit series or escaping into a gripping thriller, nothing beats the feeling of relaxing together after a long day. But even though we love our cozy nights in, we made sure to leave the house for this one — because, after all, my wife loves showing off her favorite T-shirt.

Here’s how our perfect evening went:

💙 Dinner Out
Nothing sets the mood like sharing a meal together. We picked one of our favorite local spots, where we could savor the food and enjoy some uninterrupted conversation. It’s amazing how a simple dinner can reignite the connection we’ve built over three decades.

💙 Date Night Football
Football isn’t just a sport in our house — it’s part of date night! There’s something so special about cheering for our favorite team together. We’re all about that spirited back-and-forth, from celebrating the wins to groaning at the close calls. Even after 31 years, sharing the excitement of a game adds a unique touch to our dates.

💙 Dessert
We never skip dessert. Whether it’s indulging in warm cookies or a slice of pie, enjoying a sweet treat together makes the night feel even more special. It’s a moment to slow down, savor the moment, and enjoy each other’s company.

💙 Drinks
A toast to the night and to each other! A glass of wine or sparkling drink, clinked in cheers, makes everything feel celebratory. Each sip is a reminder of how far we’ve come and the joy of continuing to share these moments.

💙 Binge-Watching While Cuddling
After dinner and dessert, it’s back to Netflix — our cozy, comforting ritual. With the lights dimmed and blankets pulled close, there’s nothing quite like binge-watching a new series while cuddling on the couch. It’s our time to unwind and just be together, with no distractions.

💙 Touching
Let’s be real — after 31 years, the simple act of holding hands or resting in each other’s arms still means everything. That physical connection, even while watching TV or relaxing, keeps the bond alive and strong. It’s the little touches that say, “I’m here, and I’m not going anywhere.”

💙 Marriage is the Best
After all these years, one thing is clear — marriage just gets better with time. Each date night, whether it’s dinner out, football, or Netflix, is a reminder of the love, laughter, and partnership we’ve built together.

Conflict Resolution and Intimacy: Our Secret Tools

It hasn’t always been easy — 31 years of marriage comes with its ups and downs, and we’ve had our share of challenges. That’s why we created the Conflict Resolution Blueprint and The Pleasure Code — two frameworks that have transformed how we communicate, solve problems, and build deeper intimacy.

The Conflict Resolution Blueprint helped us decrease conflict by guiding us through a step-by-step approach to solving disagreements with compassion and understanding. We learned how to identify the root cause of our issues, communicate openly, and seek compromises that strengthen our relationship instead of tearing it apart. Using this system, we’ve become better at listening and empathizing, which has drastically reduced the friction in our marriage.

At the same time, we implemented The Pleasure Code, a method that focuses on increasing intimacy by deepening our emotional and physical connection. It’s all about creating spaces where we can fully express our love and desires, whether through touch, conversation, or small gestures of affection. The Pleasure Code has allowed us to keep the passion alive and continue growing closer, even after decades together.

Cheers to 31 Years!

Here’s to many more nights of football, dessert, drinks, binge-watching, and, most importantly, love. Date night never ends, and the key to a lasting marriage is to keep dating, no matter how many years you’ve been together.

So don’t forget — go on that date! Whether it’s a Netflix binge or a night out on the town, cherish the moments and the person by your side. Marriage is a journey, and these moments are what make it worthwhile.
