We asked you to let us know which principles were missing from our Guiding Principles. Here is the feedback we have received so far.

What about addressing the interconnectivity of all citizens no matter the creed or ethnic background. Something about supporting each other's beliefs and their pursuit of happiness no matter who the God of their understanding is. Personally, I’m trying to navigate my anti-semantic knee jerks and develop a spiritual life. Being in contact with a God of our understanding can help heal many ailments — most importantly: addiction and suicides deaths. In the past, I would have never dreamt of adding this as a principle in at “state” matter. However, the tenants of AA and recovery programs insist “god hunting” is the most promising way to recovery. Addiction affects everyone in our community; it will deplete our passions and give the middle finger to our principles.

A revitalization of the neighborhoods immediately surrounding downtown. Intermixing of light commercial and residential neighborhoods. Harness the river better for daily life. Control poor quality building in residential and commercial spaces.

The unique character of our downtown is celebrated and protected with unique design and elevated construction standards. The Falls and downtown area are a significant draw for residents and tourists.
