Every generation is the Facebook generation, proclaims a new survey by Sprout Social. It’s hard to argue.

The study looked at the social media habits of 1,000 Millennials, Gen Xers, and Baby Boomers.

Facebook was the overwhelming choice of all demographic groups, although Xers and Boomers picked Facebook about twice as much as Millennials.

For Millennials, their social time was split more evenly between Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat, but Facebook was still the top choice.

While Facebook has the lead on social right now, there are troubling signs ahead. Millennials are already migrating to other platforms. The next group, Generation Z, doesn’t even put Facebook in the top two.

Teens and young adults age 12–24 prefer Instagram (32%) and Twitter (24%), with Facebook coming in third at 14%, just ahead of SnapChat at 13%.
