Every election is worth voting in. As Americans, if there’s one thing we should relish, it’s the chance to vote. Ahead of Election Day on November 2, we’re here to make sure you have a plan to vote in-person!

New Jersey had one of the best voter turnouts during the 2020 election with 74 percent of eligible voters casting their ballots. In 2021, we need to keep up this momentum.

Across New Jersey, down-ballot candidates are preparing for their own elections. These elections are critical for the future of New Jersey. Local officials work day in and day out to make real change in their communities. And at the top of the ticket this year is, of course, Governor Phil Murphy and Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver. They have made tremendous strides for New Jersey in their first term, but the work’s not done yet. We have to reelect Governor Murphy to keep building on all of the progress we’ve already made. There are some that want to take us back to the way things were before — we can’t let that happen. We have to keep moving forward — together.

The first step to making sure our state moves forward is, you guessed it, VOTING. Now is the time to make sure YOU have a plan to vote. And there are so many options to cast your ballot this year!

Early voting in-person

Big news, New Jersey. For the first time EVER, you can vote early in-person for NINE whole days before Election Day! That’s right — more opportunities to make your voice heard.

From October 23 to October 31, early voting locations will be open across the Garden State so that New Jerseyans can cast their ballots in this year’s election. Locations are open Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 8 PM and Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM. By giving voters more time to cast their votes, Governor Murphy is expanding access to the ballot box.

In-person on Election Day

Love the excitement of voting on Election Day? Well, it’s coming up fast on Tuesday, November 2! Polls are open from 6 AM to 8 PM, and if you’re in line by 8 PM, you can still vote! So make sure you have your plan to get to the polls and cast your vote for New Jersey Democrats up and down the ballot.

Make a plan

Whether you’re voting early in-person on Election Day, you need a plan to get to the polls. And that’s why we’re here! There’s a couple logistics we need to sort out:

If you’re still unsure and need more information, we’ve got your back! Let’s make a plan right now!

  • If you need to know where you’ll vote, you can find your early voting location or polling location here!
  • Next up: what time are you voting? Are you an early bird? Can you take an extended lunch break? Maybe you’ll head there straight after work! Whichever way, the best course of action is to set a specific time — and make sure you stick to it!
  • Now that you know what time you’ll get there, you need to know HOW you’ll get there. Will you be relying on public transportation? Will you take your car (make sure you have gas — no need to pump it yourself, of course!)? Or are you close enough to walk? Make sure you don’t just know where you’re going, but how you’re getting there!
  • Will you bring a friend? Maybe your mom, or a coworker? If you don’t have your voting buddy, now is a great time to ask. Not only will you be getting more people involved in the democratic process, but you’ll be a built-in accountability partner too!
  • And finally, if you need more information, click here to get all the details you need.

If you have any issues casting your vote, we’re here to help. Just call the NJ Voter Protection Hotline at 1–833-NJ-VOTES — that’s 1–833–658–6837.

Now, help us spread the word!
