Welcome to Issue #01 of our Dev Diaries. Team StrongNode has been rather busy in the last few months, but since we’re starting now, let’s list a few of the top achievements and what we have been up to.

The StrongNode core executive team was at the Solana Breakpoint Conference in Lisbon, Portugal, during November 7–10, 2021, and the team met up with lots of investors, partners, and friends to plan for the future growth of StrongNode, and learned a lot about Solana and what comes next.

No doubt, you are also wondering what comes next on the Solana front…

Strong Solana

StrongNode is looking towards bridges to be on other networks. Solana is prime, but we also do want to look at Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain (there is a lot more liquidity on these chains); this is of course in addition to being on Quickswap for Polygon/Matic.

Original Gamer Life is coming

We are working on Original Gamer Life, which is the first of several incubated projects that via ‘network effect’ will power the StrongNode network. Original Gamer Life will have its own IDO and the $OGL token sale happens in Q4/2021 and this will be on the Solana blockchain. We have started working on the smart contract in Rust. We will in parallel be working on getting this audited, and launched, fairly soon, so watch this space. We also have a new OGL website to share with you very soon…

The Big Apple

A portion of the StrongNode executive team (Product, CTO Office, CEO) have been in New York City recently, working long days hashing out a 1-year plan for StrongNode.

Here is a sneak peek at a few things that have come out from this:

Doubled liquidity on QuickSwap

We added to the liquidity pool on QuickSwap (By a fair amount! This is already done, take a look!)

Exploring bridges

We’ve been looking at ETH & BSC bridge options and have made some connections with a few bridges, currently exploring what works best for SNE.

StrongCode token lockup

We have spent time looking at lockups, and we decided that we will build our own token lock smart contracts. This is to avoid the fees that commercial services charge (this benefits SNE token holders, because we save easily 1% in admin costs that these services ask for in SNE tokens. What’s more, when we finish building the contracts we are going to opensource the code.)

NodeSeeder earnings

We’ve been spending time figuring out the economics around $SNE, i.e. how much you can earn for being a node, how much people will have to pay for services that use nodes, etc, how does it compare to services offered by Cloud providers, and much more.

Updated roadmap & whitepaper

We’re doing a ton around the product roadmap, which we are working into our work-in-progress whitepaper to be released soon.

Sneak preview: functions as a service (FaaS), WebSockets, VPN endpoints, device farm, metadata as a service to use StrongNode, and of course plans for the core tray table app to join the node.

StrongTeam

Hiring plan in full effect: we are looking to expand engineering with about 14 roles and 1 DevOps role, which is a grand total of 15 new members of the Tech team; this does not include the engineering resources we will need for Original Gamer Life (which will require another 5 roles).

Safety & security

In addition to all this, we recently shared an update in our StrongNode Edge Github repository [StrongNode Edge Token Contract sne-release](https://github.com/strongnodelabs/sne-release).

This included a second audit of the SNE token(to clear up some tasteless FUD over audited code that was never deployed).

Check out the 2nd Audit here: https://github.com/strongnodelabs/sne-release/blob/main/StrongNode%20-%20Smart%20Contract%20Security%20Report%202.pdf

Anti-bot was a grand success

We rolled out our experimental anti-bot technique for the SNE launch, and it was a huge success. Bots can be the bane of so many projects, front running investors and stealing liquidity. Our custom-built solution caught out almost 100 bots, which allowed the SNE token to go on some awesome discovery just a few days after the IDO launch.

Naturally, we did also grab a few false positives, and we unlocked those wallets as required (this has a less than 24-hour SLA, but it is a manual operation).

Single staking

So if you didn’t know already, you can already get started Liquidity Farming $SNE/$USDC on QuickSwap. Currently paying out an awesome 1316% APY!

https://quickswap.exchange/#/quick/0x32934CB16DA43fd661116468c1B225Fc26CF9A8c/0x2791Bca1f2de4661ED88A30C99A7a9449Aa84174/0xeB029E7a319207db79C54fdf4ee377Fe749A90b3

However, we know single staking is king, and people love to lock up their tokens for yield. Therefore we have been working on coding our own custom staking contract, which also has an interface in StrongNodeID — so heads up, this is coming in the near future.

HODL and thou shall be rewarded

One more thing. We have the [SNE Holders Address List](https://strongview.vercel.app/), and while we haven’t open-sourced the code (yet), we are collecting wallet addresses for everyone that held the token. There may (no promises!) be an NFT drop and some tasty loyalty rewards at some stage, but rest assured, if we’re doing the collection, there will be a reward of some sort… soon.

We hope you enjoyed our first Dev Diaries. We aim to release one every fortnight. Stay tuned for the next! And stay Strong.
