Take That First Step Today, Not Tomorrow
Is there something rolling around inside that head of yours? Is it an idea you’ve had for quite some time?
If the answer is yes, then it’s time you did something about it. And I mean now.
Life has a funny way of holding back our true potential and making us hold onto the ‘just good enough’ attitude. This can remain with us for so long, that it starts to become the norm; it starts to become who we are.
We, as human beings, are naturally creative creatures. Our brains strive to solve problems every day; we often find ourselves breaking down the walls of mental resistance each time we consciously think about something in our own lives or in the lives of someone we care about.
The problem is, it takes time and energy to do so. We devote so much of our time to the daily grind of everyday life, that we seldom have time for our own creations, our ideas.
That’s not to say we never bring our ideas into action, that’s absurd, of course we do! We use those weekends, those evenings, those holidays that we cling onto, the thought of which often gets us through the working year. Unfortunately, most of us pigeonhole our creative side of life into these little crooks, these little caves of wonder, and it’s entirely wrong to do so.
Why are we dissecting our time into miniature-sized chunks of creation, and giving the huge slice of the pie to the mundane everyday? Don’t we deserve better? Shouldn’t it be the other way around?
You can see why it’s time to take charge.
We frantically search forums, group chats, websites, for answers to questions which don’t need to be asked. Those searching for ways to increase their creative output in 15 minutes every night, are taking the wrong approach. It’s understandable that life, family, jobs etc., can take precedence and priority, of course they do and should, but not at the expense of one’s own development.
Without developing your own self, how do you expect to ever be satisfied with anything you do, ever? In short, you can’t.
That’s the goddamn honest truth of the matter. I’m telling you for your own good. Stop believing that you can do it all, because that is a dangerous road to take, one that will lead to burnout.
I say all of this to you with an open and honest heart, not to put fear into you, far from it. I want to ignite the fire beneath you, to push you towards the next ‘step’ in your life, to help you long-term, to make sure you’re satisfied with your own life. It’s YOUR LIFE. Take the next step now; don’t wait for something or someone, because they are not coming.
Take the reigns, take the bull by the horns, take the first step. But please, don’t put it off for another day, another week, another month, another year. Do it now. NOW! NOW!!! GO!
