Legendary, Special Edition, Tier, Print Number… If you have been following our various sales over the past few months, you may have come into contact with these different terms. And maybe you are not 100 percent familiar with them or the card hierarchy system. This is why in this article, you will learn more about rarities and different levels of our collectibles.

Generally we can define the scarcity of each card based on two metrics: Tier and the Print Number. Both factors significantly determine the value of each NFT based on their uniqueness. In later plans these two metrics will influence the revenue potential and impact of each collectible in ranking and levelling systems.

Rarity Tiers

Tiers tie into a larger collectible system provided by the stryking.io platform. In the future, the stryking.io platform will reward and incentivise collections and reward points based on the player’s achievements. Our system is divided into five rarity Tiers:

Epic tier

Legendary, Epic, Rare, Uncommon and Common. Legendary cards are of the highest level, meaning that only a very small number of this tier will be available. Reverse in the situation with the Common — for this tier numerically most cards will be available. So far, so good.

Special edition/ Legendary tier

What about the level of the Special Editions like the Christmas or New Year Cards? These editions also belong to the Legendary Tier, but they are even more scarce and only released at special occasions. Also we release even lower print counts of these editions for ultimate scarcity. These are the real collector jewels. It’s good to note that you can recognize individual Tiers by the color schemes of frames and backgrounds.

Print Numbers

The Print Number of each collectible is like a date stamp within the edition. As an example, the Epic Player Cards that were first created, will have the Print Number 1 in them.

From this perspective they have a special collector’s status and let’s face it, there is just something nice about owning the #1. In retrospect, it can mean increased value, especially when time goes on. It’s also good to note that you may be able to purchase #1 Prints at a lower price in the beginning, before they have gained collector’s value.

Legendary tier, print number #3

Similar to different tiers, earlier Print Numbers may include more earning potential than later prints. As an example, there might be a scenarios where a Print #10 of Epic Tier is worth less than a Print #1 of a Rare Tier. The exact print count for different Tiers is yet to be released.

More to follow

All in all we hope that this was helpful for learning more about our collectibles, what scarcity means and how different Tiers and Print Numbers may affect the value and potential of each collectible. There is a lot more coming up soon so stay tuned!
