According to The National Student Survey, Leeds University has the highest level of student satisfaction in the region with 90% of those studying at the institution happy with their courses.

Leeds University scored the highest of any university in Yorkshire and also higher than the majority of other similar institutions according to the Higher Education Funding Council for England.

Sheffield and York University also posted high satisfaction rates of 89%.

Meanwhile Sheffield’s Student Union has been named as the best in the UK for the fifth consecutive year. The union reported an overall satisfaction level of 96%, which was an increase on last year’s figure of 95%.

Speaking on the matter Students’ Union president Dominic Trendall said: “This wonderful achievement is a testament to all of the dedicated staff, students and volunteers” and that the Students’ Union is “a place where talented students from across the globe can come together to try new activities, exceed their expectations and make new friends.”

Leed’s deputy vice chancellor Professor Tom Ward said that the 90% satisfaction level was a considerable achievement in what is becoming an increasingly competitive environment.

Nationally 86% of university students were satisfied with their course. A further seven percent of students were neither satisfied not dissatisfied with their university experiences, while the remaining seven percent were dissatisfied.
