Desert Oasis with a high minority enrollment rate has a lack of counselors of color; health concerns occur due to a “large amount of cases and not enough counselors”. Counselors are unable to address each student’s concern from the limited budget.

A student at Cox elementary tries to use limited resources from lower budget in the school. With the $68 million deficit spending, the teachers strive to provide their students with less resources from the budget cut; they work with the minimal sources leading on to an increase in dropout rate among Hispanic and African American students.

Schools like Bishop Gorman are private located in Summerlin where predominately white children attend and receive adequate resources to succeed. The students are in smaller classes and receive additional academic resources if necessary, but why are schools throughout CCSD not getting this attention? When with students of color be heard?

Students of color need to succeed. Dunbar in Washington DC, a predominantly Black high school has their resources for underrepresented students. The school is known for having an adequate amount of teachers of color to support students of color along with extra support services to help students score high achievements.
