You are a student and you’re seriously considering continuing your studies abroad or simply joining an international exchange program for students? If you still have not discovered your ideal destination you could find this list useful.

And this is how we created it.

A perfect destination should provide an excellent study program, an interesting and dynamic student life and make all of that affordable to a modest student budget.

With this in mind we present the most attractive and the most affordable cities for studying in Europe:

Budapest, Hungary
Two years in a row it is proclaimed the cheapest student destination. Affordable price of life in this city attracts an increasing number of students from all around the world. Affordable accommodations and food, good study programs and excellent night life and are all you need. And if you want to gain the very first work experience in Budapest, the most wanted professions are in the field of information technology, health care and education.

Prague, Czech Republic
Czech capital is one of the best European cities for a student life, for it has a lot to offer and that for a good price — bars, pubs, castles, museums … This city is also located in the center of Europe, and it is an ideal starting point for a weekend trip. Tuition fees for foreign students amount on average up to about $ 7,000 a year, and there are a number of scholarships offered, also. The most wanted work positions are the ones in the fields of construction and administration.

Berlin, Germany
Germany is one of the most popular destinations for students. Here are located some of the top-rated universities in the world. In Berlin, as well as in the whole country, state universities have adopted a policy of a free study both for local and for foreign students who come by an exchange program or the students continuing their education. In this country there are also some of the best engineering programs and global corporations ideal for a practice. The costs of living in Berlin are relatively low, and the easiest way to get a job is in the field of engineering and construction.

Vienna, Austria
For the students coming from EU countries it is completely free to study in Austria. For those with a residence outside the EU, tuition fees are also very affordable. If you decide to study in Vienna, the required annual tuition would be about $ 500 a year. Accommodation and food are a bit more expensive comparing to the previous cities.

Madrid, Spain
For years Madrid has been considered one of the cheapest European capitals. It is rich in cultural events, culinary flavors and tastes, entertainment … which makes it an ideal student destination. The price of the average tuition is about $ 2,000 a year, and they have a deficit in professionals in the fields of catering and trade.

Finland
The Finnish education system has become well-known throughout the world for its innovative techniques. Higher education in this northern country stands among the world’s finest ones and it’s also completely free. The costs of housing and food are left up to you to pay, and foreign students are offered numerous study programs in English.
To be prepared in the best possible way and even more familiar with the way of life, the customs of the country in which you wish to continue your education, we suggest you visit the sites of associations and organizations dealing with the exchange of students, embassies and cultural centers. Learn more about the cost of living of students in the country where you are planning to continue your education. There, you will find a number of useful information that will help you to adjust to the new environment as quickly as possible (information concerning accommodation, scholarships, enrollment procedures, student life, issuing visas, study programs).

Whatever European country you choose, you should have in mind which ones of them belong to the so-called Schengen Agreement and which ones require Schengen visa insurance. This visa allows you to stay for a period of 90 days in the Schengen zone and it is valid for 180 days. For a longer period of time, which studying in any European country requires, you must apply for a special visa for students.
