After interviewing 20+ unconventional industry designers and mentoring folks from different universities, Students Who Design is now offering an online course to help you go from 0 to job ready.

🤔 What

The program will include a one-semester long class where students will be introduced to the field of product design, conduct weekly exercises, meet people within the industry every week to learn more, and at the end of the course will have a polished case study. We’ll be covering fundamentals like design process, typography, color, layout, and more. During the course, we will have office hours for once a week and 1–1’s with each student to understand their progress. After the course, students will meet with instructors bi-weekly on an as needed basis for help with securing an internship or job in the field.

When

We’re planning to run the course from October — December. It will require 10–12 hours a week worth of lectures, assignments, and exercises.

🙋🏽‍♀️ Who

The course is meant for people who are looking to become product designers in the industry. If you’re unsure what a product designer does, here’s a fantastic read. We’re looking for our first 3–5 students for the initial cohort. Underrepresented minorities and people who don’t go to design schools are preferred.

🤑 How much is it?

The course will be free.

🤷🏽‍♂️ How will it work?

Students will listen to a pre-recorded lecture prior to the live session. We will meet once a week over Zoom to discuss the lecture and talk through any questions. You will have an assignment every week that helps you make progress on your case studies. You will also have an exercise every week to help you get accustomed to modern-day tools like Figma, Framer, and more.

😍 I’m interested!

Great! Please fill out this form and I’ll be in touch shortly.

😊 Maybe later.

No worries. If you’re interested in learning quick tips and bite-sized lessons about design (type, grid, layout) we’ll also be running a bi-weekly newsletter. Sign up here.
