Big, fat STUDIO Update: forms, modal function and more! Web design freedom, without writing code.
Since the release of STUDIO, the next generation code-free web design tool, we have received a lot of function requests from our amazing users and with this update we are finally able to offer the most popular ones: contact form, hamburger menu, fixed layer, SSL domain. Thanks to this update, you can create even more freely on STUDIO. And of course, all of the new functions are available for free.
Contact form
If you need to use a form to receive inquiries about an event, a service and so on you can now create it on STUDIO without writing any code.
Of course, you have full customization freedom also when it comes to the form design. There is no restriction given by a template, so you can craft the form that is customized to your needs.
How to create a form
- From the left side panel, drag and drop “Form”.
2. You can edit the type of data (text or email), placeholder, titles and so on as you wish.
3. Once you receive submissions from your contact form, you can see the full list from your project dashboard. Additionally, if you set your email address you will receive a notification on your email.
Hamburger Menu & Modal Function
You can now easily create pop-ups that come up according to how a user moves on the page or what they click on, such as hamburger menus.
There is no limit to customization possibilities.
How to create modal
- You can add a modal layer like you add pages, from the right side panel.
2. You can edit the design of the modal layer after it has been clicked on.
3. Set the link which will prompt the modal to open.
Making you domain secure with SSL
Google has taken several steps to prioritize security in recent years. With Google Chrome 68 update, websites that do not have SSL are marked as “not secure”.
Because of this, we have rolled out an update to automatically install SSL certification on independent domains, rather than just to STUDIO subdomains. In this way, all sites created on STUDIO are 100% secure, without an additional fee.
How to connect your domain and install SSL
- Click “Publish” on the top bar within the STUDIO editor
- Insert the domain you would like to connect. After clicking OK, go to your domain provider site and set up your DNS record as follows:
A Record A35.194.122.208.
Go back to STUDIO and click Ok again.
3. Once the domain is connected, the process to install SSL certificate will automatically start.
(it will take from 1 to 10 minutes).
4. A green lock will appear next to your domain name, and your site is secured.
Fixed Layer
You can now create fixed layers that don’t disappear once the user scrolls down the page.
It’s a useful function to make fixed header and bottom bar buttons.
How to make a fixed layer
- Add a box
- Select the box, and on the top left check the box “fixed”
※If the “Fixed” box doesn’t appear in the top left, it may be because it is not possible to make that element fixed
